the haze’s really bugging me so im staying at home, listening n singing 2 a compilation of disney songs i’ve kept long ago. the child in me is still adamant in showing its true colours, it seems:) wat i’d give 2 be 4 again..*sigh*. to watch lion king wif my sibs in the cinema n going 4 every disney movie played in yishun theatres, its just unforgettable. songs like anastacia’s ”paris holds a key” n of course, ”at the beginning”. oh yeah, not forgetting ”once upon a december” by aaliyah. fantastic.

all of the old-time classic disney movies, n i mean the REAL classic one’s like beauty n the beast n the little mermaid, pinnochio, the magic sword, sleeping beauty n lady n tramp (not like those computer animated  ones we’re feasting our eyes on these days like shrek and the upcoming ‘valiant’, though i cannot deny that they ARE pretty amusing:) it just sumtimes really brings out the true colours of wat life really is. pretty amazing how cartoons can make us realize our flaws n mistakes like ‘the lion king’. one of my ultimate fave. (mulan comes next) the beautiful relationship between father-son, muffasa n simba, is hardly visible in us, humans these days. if u ppl wanna find out what i mean, try 2 really, i mean, really understand watch n understand the movie again n i can bet u it beats star wars. :P. honestly.

i hv nothing againts computer-animated cartoons n they DO bring ‘pengajaran’s’ in every story but it all seems a bit 2 plastic 4 me to ‘feel’ it.~hehe. maybe im too intrigued by classical cartoons. characters in huge swaying western skirts, pocahontas who has a strong attitude towards life (”colours of the wind”), aladdin wif the flying carpet just makes us forget all bout the stress n work in reality n for once, we can enjoy n let our imagination flow magically to the non-existant outside world. we reincarnate n carry ourself 2 the world of magical fantasy whereby nothing else seems 2 matter but only us, n ‘prince charming’ from cinderalla…*sigh*…..

‘hercules’ is wonderful. n so is ‘the hunchback of notre dame’('God help the outcasts’) the songs they play, oh gosh. sumtimes u just gotta give urself a break n listen 2 disney melodies. it brings out ur imagination once again n it really does at times, bring out much more meanings n understandings than the type of songs we’re listening 2 these days (eg.american idiot, untitled) they’re really good, no doubt but y dyu always wanna listen 2 problematic songs? its so meng-geraming. ppl like christina aguilera who sings ”reflection” n aaliyah can really bring out the song well. its just amazing how these ppl contribute towards the disney classical world.

it sux that production on classical disney movies r going extremely low. i think the last was ‘brother bear’ (or was that under dreamworks production?) oh who cares. it’ll be great if thay cum up wif another exciting cartoon like ‘ mickey mouse’.. aha~ thumbs up 4 mr. walt disney!

Once Upon a December- Aaliyah (anastacia)

Dancing bears,
Painted wings,
Things I almost remember,
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December.

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory…

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart used to know,
Once upon a December

Someone holds me safe and warm.
Horses prance through a silver storm.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory…

Far away, long ago,
Glowing dim as an ember,
Things my heart
Used to know,
Things it yearns to remember…

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December
